Randolph County Emergency Services has started using a notification service called Nixle to notify it's residents of emergency information. This service is free and alerts are delivered right to your mobile phone. You can sign up now by visiting http://local.nixle.com/register/. You will need to enter a unique user name & password, your name, and your mobile phone number. Nixle will then send you an email and a text message to your phone. MAKE SURE YOU REPLY 'YES' to the text message or you will not receive your alerts. After replying 'YES', you will receive another text message confirming you were signed up successfully. Now, continue to enter in your address so that Nixle knows to notify you when Randolph County sends out alerts to residents in the County. Nixle will also ask you to refer friends and enter some demographics, this is optional. That's it! Once your in your Nixle account, you can also add other locations if you have family in other areas or travel allot. This a great service our Emergency Services department is offering and this past weekend's storms proves it's need.
